Step 3

"Made a desicion to turn our will and our lives over to the care of god as we understand him/her"

  1. I am all for asking for help, strength, support and understanding. And I am all for religion, higher powers whatever you wanna believe in (even if its putting stress in a jar and the stress fairies coming and taking it away)If you believe it and it works, more power to you. But at what point is one responsible for themselves? For every action there is an equal or greater reaction. Writing checks your ass can or can't cash?

Is it just me, or do most of these steps suggest that recovery is beyond the addicts ability and must be willing to pass the buck to someone (religion) else and obey the decisions made for them by others?

  2. Yes they do!! and you have hit the nail on the head for this discussion. Were not followers once we decide to gain sobriety we are leaders. Believe in yourself, believe in what good you have in you abd you will succeed. I want to write morte but I am getting tired, so until later I bid you g'night
